The Fourth Generation of the World's best selling Real Time Virtual Radar, (by a massive margin) was officially announced by Kinetic on May the 11th, 2009.

Identical in looks, size and shape to its predecessor, the new "er" prefix offers the user a BUILT-IN AIR BAND RECEIVER with additional FM Band (76-108MHz) coverage, controlled via your PC. The only distinguishing alterations to the new SBS-1er is an additional SMA antenna socket on the rear panel for the built in high performance receiver and the loss of the Ethernet power switch which is now automatic.

Supplied complete with antenna and BaseStation Virtual Radar software. The SBS-1er Pocket Radar allows you to track ADS-B aircraft on a PC- simulated radar screen and identifies and displays Mode-S equipped aircraft.

The Kinetic Ethernet Add-on for the SBS-1 is a unique self-fit module that fits snugly inside the SBS-1 mk1 & mk2. The image shows a top view of the module fitted within the SBS.

What will it allow me to do?
  • By installing this additional module it will enable the user to connect via USB (standard) or Ethernet.
  • You can now connect to your SBS via your home network or over the internet. If you have fixed IP you can watch your SBS-1 activity from any location in the world!
  • It also means of course that you can view the SBS from any PC on your home or office network.
  • The permutations of what you can do with wireless routers and fixed IP addresses are endless.

The unit is a simple to fit unit (supplied with full instructions).
A 5V or 12V PSU (depending on SBS mk1 or mk2 version) is required to power the SBS1-EM module through the SBS-1 itself.

Radio Scanner Interface for the SBS-1

Interface mechanism for connectivity to a range of popular radio scanners thus allowing users to watch aircraft and listen to air traffic in a single consolidated action.

Now, with two mouse clicks, an attached radio scanner will be automatically tuned to the frequencies selected. Frequencies can either be entered freehand or associated with waypoints.

For a list of scanners and receivers that can interface with the SBS-1 click the "INFO" button.

* PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A FIRMWARE UPGRADE. YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR SBS-1 SERIAL WHEN ORDERING!

A suitable interface cable is required to connect the SBS-1 to any of the above scanners. These can be supplied at £19.95 inc VAT. In addition, please remember that the AR-8200 also requires the 8200-PC level converter at £74.90.

The SBS-2™ is a 19” rack-mounted professional DO-260A compliant 1090Mhz Mode-S, ADS-B and TIS-B receiver for decoding transponder signals.

A 1030MHz option allows monitoring of ground and airborne interrogation signals and the SBS-2 family are re-configurable to protect customer investment.

Output is available as simultaneous raw data streams, ASTERIX CAT 21 over TCP/IP and Multicast.

The SBS-2C is a 19” rack-mounted professional DO-260A compliant 1090Mhz Mode-S, ADS-B and TIS-B receiver for decoding transponder signals. Ideally suited to sectorised antennas and improving the coverage of omni-directional antennas, the SBS-2C performs data consolidation across multiple receiver cards and or across multiple SBS-2C units.
