Hi M3SXA
I got a PM from you, but for some reason I go to my Inbox and click on it but just get a blank forum page. Not sure what's going on there but I'm unable to read it or answer it. Sorry!
Ive tried all the forum settings and still no joy.
Regards
Steve

Default software

Hi, any chance you could give us a link or email me the software that wide bands the 817ND.

As I said an M0 friend of mine done his but would not work on mine, we checked the software and the reviews on a website and others said it does not work on the ND version so maybe you have a different software or a more up-to-date version?

Not sure whats wrong with the mailbox its still in my sent box but hopefully you will read this.

Ok, I had "Softjump" for the non ND model (Softjump wont work on any ND models) and I used "Widebander" program from M0BMN for my ND model.
But after having a read of the help file for the software there is still a possability that it may not work on all ND models, because apparently, part of the way through the production run of the ND model Yaesu changed the address registers that read the jumper configurations so that they cant be read or written via the CAT cable.

So if you have a late model ND then you have to use the solder pad method.
I guess my friends and I where lucky and bought the earlier versions of the ND model (we did all buy our ND's roughly at the same time so we could all go out QRP portable with them).
Still worth trying the software though just in case it's an early version of the ND model.
Fingers crossed that the Widebander software works on yours.
Regards
Steve

Copied from an info page of Widebander.

If you have a newer radio (already tx's on the extended part of 40m - between 7.1mhz & 7.2mhz) this software doesn't work...in fact you don't need to modify your radio at all...unless of course it's to operate illegally on the CB bands!!..
