Accounts Assistant Required! 

The Assistant Accountant role will involve working alongside the Financial Controller & Operations Manager and include the following duties:
  • Costing/pricing  of products and reporting of price changes and profit margins –ensuring accuracy
  • Accounts Payable including UK and overseas payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • EC Sales lists, Instrastat and VAT returns
  • Reconciliations and analysis
  • Other general finance & administrative tasks
The role will include the duties outlines above however you must be flexible to undertake varying tasks to support the changing business needs.
In order to be considered for the role of Part-time Assistant Accountant you will have gained the following skills and experience:
  • Significant prior experience within an Accounts Assistant role or similar and have experience in similar duties as outlined above
  • Be qualified to A Level or equivalent in Maths, Accountancy, Science or a Business related subject. AAT qualification would be an advantage.
  • Candidates must be very organised and accurate for this small busy department.
  • Candidates must have good intermediate Excel skills and an aptitude for accounting systems, excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at any one time and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience of Sage 50 is an advantage.

Here at Martin Lynch and Sons, we currently have an open position for a Senior Workshop Engineer to service and repair amateur radio, aviation & marine communications equipment.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be required to work on a variety of communications equipment and accessories. This may include equipment such as simple analogue power supplies, state-of-the-art hand-held digital radios, high-end SDR radios, and high power linear amplifiers (both solid-state and valve). 

In addition to the latest state-of-the-art equipment, it will be necessary from time-to-time to work on older equipment which is no-longer in production, so knowledge of this type of equipment will be of great benefit.

The successful candidate will also be required to liaise with, and support the sales team with their specific requirements to allow them to complete a sale. This may require providing technical assistance to customers, so good communication skills are a must. 

Remember that our goal is to provide the customer with complete satisfaction in both our products and services, so quality working practices are also a strong requirement.


The successful candidate will report directly to the workshop manager. However, as this is a senior position, they will also be required to supervise and support other members of the workshop staff as necessary. 


Specific Job Requirements

The successful candidate will require the following technical skills: 

  • Have a good understanding of both analogue & digital electronics in both the RF & baseband domains. 
  • Be able to fault-find electronic equipment to component level.
  • Have experience of working with surface mount technology. 
  • Have knowledge of safe working practices - especially in high-voltage scenarios.

Although not a requirement, the successful candidate will benefit from having operational knowledge of digital modes such as C4FM, D-Star, DMR etc.

As the position requires significant interaction with both customers and suppliers, the successful candidate must be proficient in the English language (both verbal & written).


The successful candidate must be familiar with Windows OS & Microsoft Office.

While no formal qualifications are necessary for this role, a candidate who possesses relevant qualifications would be preferred. It is expected, that the successful candidate will have significant experience of working within the communications service industry. 



It is also required that the successful candidate be a fully licensed amateur radio operator.
