Triple protection against overvoltages on the antenna line:

To protect your receiver we offer the OVP1000 a new surge (Over Voltage Protector). Built-in coaxial lines, so be high current pulses as generated by lightning strikes in the immediate vicinity derived. These protect the OVP 1000 on three counts against overvoltages on the antenna line:

  1. Antenna side: A gas discharge tube with 60V ignition voltage, max. Pulse discharge current 1 kA (8 / 20us)
  2. On the receiver side. An ultrafast diode ESD (30KV max pulse power 350W (8 / 20us)
  3. Input and output are also for DC voltages up to max. Blocked 100V

Without replaceable cartridge, the system is completely replaced. Not waterproof.

Overvoltage protection OVP1000 in practical use

I inserted the 1000 inline while listening to Old Time Radio on 6770 AM, on my beverage. Not only did it decrease clipping without attenuator inline, it eliminates the DC clips with attenuator engaged!!! I can say from experience, the OVP1000 is reasonably priced, protection device that offers no noticeable insertion loss of signal & obviously drops the induced static… Read the Article in the Bonito Newsroom 


Please read carefully and Disclaimer:
The OVP 1000 is no protection of the antenna line against direct lightning strike, since lightning always seeking kürzsten way to Earth, which does not necessarily take place via the coaxial cable. Therefore, the protection function is limited to overvoltages and potential differences between Koaxmasse (shield and inner conductor). Therefore, a liability for connected devices is generally excluded! When not in use, absence, broadcasting or lightning storms in the receiver should be disconnected to prevent damage from the antenna line!
