The large diameter knurled handle provides a good grip for easy stripping - you'll really appreciate that after stripping several ends! New, premium quality cutting blades assure clean cuts and long life.
The best operation occurs with cable that is cleanly cut and round - not oval, as occurs when diagonal side-cutters crush the cable while cutting. Order the DXE-CNL-911 cable cutting tool for best results.
For replacement blades, also order DXE-UT-RB-HD.

DXE-UT-8213 coax cable stripper from G6GPF

Over the years I have always stripped cables as a ham and a professional engineer using a pen knife (a blunt one is best) using side cutters to remove excess screen. As I had to make a number of terminations at height I decided to treat myself to the DX Engineering coax stripper. Once I got it and did the first termination I wished I had purchased it sooner.
This tool is great for getting the length of cut on inner core and outer sheath just right - no need to measure and mark the coax cable - I admit I often got the first trim wrong when doing it by eye (especially if I had not done one for some years) and ended up cutting back and starting again - no such problem with the DX stripper.
It is well built and the stripping blades can be removed for sharpening or replacement if required. It will last a lifetime provided it is stored it in a dry place (no tools last long if they are stored in wet or damp conditions).
