MFJ-550 Morse Key is a low priced key which can be used for practice, kept as a spare, or used in an environment where a more expensive key is not practical. For perfect balanced operation it is recommended that it should be screwed onto a wooden base.

Classic Morse-Code CW has been sent on straight keys since the beginning of radio. MFJ Economy Straight Keys offer the beginner an opportunity to develop a great "fist" without great cost.

Their model MFJ-553 key features a Morse-Code straight key mounted to a beautifully stained wood base. They have a steel weight under the wood so they stay put and won't move around while you're practicing. The MFJ-553s include a 3 ft. cable and a 3.5mm keying plug.

With its plain-plastic base, their model MFJ-550 is even more economical. Two screw holes allow you to mount the key to a base of your choice. Supply your own cable and connector to complete your setup.

Learning code is easy with the right equipment. After you become a bit proficient, one of these keys connected to your transmitter or transceiver will even get you on the air.
