Very good radio for the price and works well. I bought to use mobile and it comes with the remote mounting kit which many other makes don't supply in the box. A few points to bear in mind with this radio: The instruction book is in Chinese English and it does take a real effort to understand what they mean in some places. The programming software is a free download from the Wouxon website and I would recommend using that as it is very user friendly. ML&S sell the programming cable (same one as for the Wouxon KG-UV 920). It does work on CB frequencies; you can program the CEPT (FCC) channels on FM only, but the UK frequencies can't be set precisely ie UK CH01 is 27.60125, the nearest I could set is 27.6000, which works but you will be slightly off frequency, and this becomes noticeable as the distance between you and the other station increases. The output power on 10/11 metres (CB band) is only 10 watts, which is a bit disappointing, where as the VHF/UHF bands are 50W/40W. Nothing to stop you using a linear though. Airband works well, although there is no 8.33khz step, but this still leaves a few hundred channels to scan. The 1000 channel memory is generous; although scanning is not quite as fast as a purpose built scanner such as a Uniden or Radio Shack, and the dual band is like having two radios in one. Overall a great radio, especially for mobile use if you only want 'one' radio in the vehicle that offers the popular ham bands with wideband scanning and limited CB facilities. I would recommend this radio and would be happy to buy another one. Long term reliability is yet to be tested, but so far so good. Contact 'spikejaw67@btinternet.com' if you want anymore info.
