The Chameleon CHA B3D Broadband Base Dipole is a simple, rugged and highly flexible HF antenna system designed for operators who want wide band coverage without a complicated installation. It is an excellent choice for home stations, restricted spaces, portable operation, emergency communications and anyone needing a discreet antenna that can be adapted to real-world conditions.

Unlike traditional multi-band antennas that may require traps, band switching or regular adjustment, the CHA B3D is designed to provide broadband HF coverage when used with a suitable antenna tuner. The 60 Foot (~18.5m) model covers 80m to 6m, while the 120 Foot (~36.5m) and 146 Foot (~44.5m) versions cover 160m to 6m.

The CHA B3D can be installed as an inverted V, horizontal dipole, low-profile stealth antenna or portable field antenna. Its discreet wire design makes it suitable for locations where visibility matters, including urban gardens, smaller plots or areas where UK council planning considerations may make large, obvious antenna systems less practical.

Built using Chameleon’s tough 16 gauge tinned copper Kevlar PTFE wire, the B3D is designed for long-term outdoor use. It includes a matching transformer with SO-239 connection and is suitable for NVIS, regional and DX communications, depending on installation height, layout and operating conditions.

An antenna tuner is required on most frequencies.
