To properly set up a Portable Digital Node Station with the FTM-400XD, FTM-400D, and FTM-100D, the SCU-40
WiRES-X connection cable kit is required.**

Users can easily establish and operate a WiRES-X Portable Node Station by directly connecting the FTM-400XD,
FTM-400D, and FTM-100D to the PC with the SCU-40.
Same as the WiRES-X Portable Node with the FT2D, four (4) different types of operation modes are available.

Please also be informed that the latest WiRES-X PC software (Ver 1.510) has been released along with the latest
firmware of the FTM-400XD/FTM-400D and FTM-100D. This software contains some improvements and
optimizations to operate a WiRES-X PDN (Portable Digital Node) with the C4FM transceivers – FTM-400XD, FTM-
400D, FTM-100D and FT2D and a fixed WiRES-X node station with HRI-200.

With the Portable Digital Node function, the flexibility and mobility of the WiRES-X Network will be available all the
time. We believe that this new WiRES-X functionality will contribute to the growth of the YAESU C4FM (System
Fusion) network.

* Please note that while the FTM-400D is supported it does require different MAIN version firmware than the FTM-400XD series.
**If customers are interested in operating his/her node as an Access Point for C4FM digital only or Direct Operation with other C4FM digital nodes
only, only the SCU-20 cable supplied with the FTM-400XD/D and FTM-100D package is required. It would not be necessary that customers
purchase the SCU-40 connection cable kit. If customers are interested in Access Point/ Direct Operation both in C4FM digital/ FM modes, the
SCU-40 Cable Kit must be obtained.

Yaesu SCU-40 Wires-X Portable Station Connection Cables

After updating the transceivers firmware to the latest version that supports the Portable Digital Node Function the SCU-40 cable kit will allow a user to easily establish and operate a WiRES-X Portable Station by directly connecting the FTM-400XD or FTM-100DR to the USB and audio ports of a PC. In this configuration the conventional HRI-200 internet interface kit is not required for the Portable Digital Node function, and no fixed or dynamic global IP address is necessary. Since users do not need to open an Ethernet port, WiRES-X communication from any location is possible - such as Hotel rooms, Airports, Vehicle Wi-Fi, or even Wi-Fi Access Points.

Using this new Portable Digital Node Function, users can gain access to the WiRES-X Network directly by using the transceivers PTT and microphone. The need to have an additional radio to talk to a node radio is no longer needed in order to enjoy the WiRES-X Network. Using the SCU-40 cable kit the transceiver can also function as an Access Point for RF communication identical to any previous WiRES-X node.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request.

Warranty Terms and Conditions

Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.

For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.

International Warranty information

Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
