Watch the aircraft around you on a dedicated 7-inch touchscreen radar display, complete with live positions, flight information, aircraft details and configurable flight alerts.
FlightRadar is designed to sit on a desk, shelf or windowsill and provide an always-on view of your local air traffic. Simply connect it to USB-C power, join your 2.4 GHz WiFi network and set your home location. There is no SDR receiver, ADS-B antenna, Raspberry Pi or companion computer to configure.
Same display size and case as the popular DX Spotter Pro
If you're familiar with the TopBytes DX Spotter Pro, FlightRadar uses the same 7-inch display size and the same style of enclosure. Instead of DX cluster spots, however, the screen is dedicated to live aircraft tracking with a full radar scope and interactive flight information.
A live view of the sky around you
Aircraft appear as green contacts on a north-up radar scope with concentric distance rings, compass markings and heading vectors. A rotating sweep line and fading phosphor-style afterglow give the display the look of a traditional radar screen.
Fresh contacts brighten as the sweep passes them, while selected aircraft are highlighted separately for easy identification.
See what's actually flying overhead
Tap an aircraft on the radar or select it from the in-range list to open its detailed information panel.
Just connect it to the internet
FlightRadar obtains aircraft positions over your internet connection from the community adsb.fi ADS-B network and uses adsbdb.com for additional aircraft and route information. This means there is no local 1090 MHz receiver or outdoor antenna to install.
Centre the radar on your home
Enter either your Maidenhead locator or latitude and longitude directly on the touchscreen. The radar immediately re-centres and saves the new location.
5 km to 250 km
Zoom in for aircraft on a nearby approach or flight path, or zoom out for a wide-area view of regional traffic.
Keep an eye out for the aircraft you care about
Configure up to six callsign, ICAO or flight-number prefixes. When a matching aircraft enters the displayed area it is highlighted on the radar, making FlightRadar a useful companion for plane spotting or keeping track of a particular airline or service.
No computer required
On first power-up, FlightRadar can scan for nearby WiFi networks and lets you enter the password using its on-screen keyboard. It can remember up to three networks and automatically reconnect to the best saved network in range.
FlightRadar requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi network with internet access. 5 GHz-only WiFi networks are not supported.
Low-power desktop operation
FlightRadar runs from 5 V USB-C power and typically consumes only 2–4 W. Use a good-quality 5 V USB power source rated at 1 A or greater. It can also be powered from a suitable USB-C power bank for temporary portable use.
FlightRadar does not receive ADS-B transmissions directly. Aircraft information is provided by third-party internet data services and may occasionally be delayed, incomplete or unavailable. It is intended as an informational display for hobby and enthusiast use only and must not be used for aviation, navigation or safety-critical purposes.
What's in the Box?
Please note: USB power adaptor is not included. A quality 5 V USB supply rated at 1 A or more is required.
