Serious receiver performance. A more compact station.
The Yaesu FTDX10 brings much of the advanced receiver technology developed for the flagship FTDX101 series into a more compact 100W transceiver. At its heart is Yaesu's Hybrid SDR configuration, which combines a high-performance narrow-band receiver with direct-sampling technology for the real-time spectrum display.
The result is an HF radio designed to perform well under demanding conditions. Its roofing filters, low-noise oscillator and extensive IF DSP controls help separate wanted signals from interference, while the touchscreen spectrum display provides an immediate picture of band activity.
With a built-in automatic antenna tuner, 100W transmit capability and USB connectivity, the FTDX10 suits traditional voice and CW operators as well as enthusiasts using computer-based digital modes.
Built for demanding HF operation
HF and VHF Output
Adjustable RF output up to 100W on supported operating modes across HF, 50MHz and the UK 70MHz allocation.
SDR Architecture
A narrow-band SDR receiving path works alongside direct-sampling SDR technology for spectrum visualisation.
Colour Touchscreen
High-visibility touchscreen incorporating a real-time spectrum scope, waterfall and 3DSS display modes.
Automatic Antenna Tuner
Fast internal antenna matching with 100-channel tuning memory, reducing the need for an external tuner with suitable antenna systems.
Two complementary SDR technologies
Like the FTDX101 series, the FTDX10 uses Yaesu's Hybrid SDR approach. A conventional down-conversion receiver with narrow roofing filters is combined with a direct-sampling SDR system, allowing the radio to prioritise receiver performance without losing the benefits of a detailed spectrum display.
Narrow-Band SDR Receiver
A 9MHz first intermediate-frequency architecture provides the opportunity to use narrow crystal roofing filters ahead of the receiver's digital processing stages. The filters help attenuate unwanted strong signals before they reach the analogue-to-digital converter.
Direct-Sampling SDR Scope
Direct-sampling technology provides the real-time spectrum and waterfall displays. Signals can be identified visually and selected for reception through the radio's narrow-band receiving system.
This arrangement is particularly useful during contests, DX pile-ups and operation near powerful local signals, where both close-in selectivity and an awareness of band activity are important.
Outstanding close-in dynamic range
The FTDX10 uses a 250MHz High Resolution Direct Digital Synthesizer (HRDDS), carefully selected receiver components and high-performance crystal roofing filters to achieve strong receiver performance with closely spaced signals.
Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range at 2kHz separation.
Blocking Dynamic Range at 2kHz separation.
Third-order Intermodulation Dynamic Range at 2kHz separation.
Yaesu-published receiver figures measured in the 14MHz band at 2kHz separation under specified test conditions.
Crystal roofing filters for crowded bands
The FTDX10 has three factory-installed crystal roofing filters, providing 500Hz, 3kHz and 12kHz bandwidths. These filters help reduce unwanted energy reaching the receiver's subsequent processing stages.
| Filter Bandwidth | Configuration |
|---|---|
| 500Hz CW | Factory-fitted |
| 3kHz SSB | Factory-fitted |
| 12kHz AM | Factory-fitted |
| 300Hz CW | Optional XF-130CN |
For dedicated CW operators, the optional Yaesu XF-130CN 300Hz roofing filter provides additional narrow-band selectivity. The optional filter is not included as standard.
Take control of interference
Beyond the front-end roofing filters, Yaesu provides a comprehensive collection of digital signal-processing tools for improving intelligibility and controlling interference.
IF SHIFT and WIDTH
Adjust the position and bandwidth of the receive passband to reduce interference from nearby stations.
IF Notch and DNF
Suppress unwanted carriers and persistent interference using manual and digital notch-filter functions.
Digital Noise Reduction
DNR processing provides adjustable noise reduction to improve listening comfort under suitable conditions.
CONTOUR Filtering
Shape the receive audio response to emphasise or attenuate selected frequency components.
See and explore the band
The 5-inch colour TFT touchscreen incorporates Yaesu's 3DSS (3-Dimensional Spectrum Stream) system, providing a visual representation of changing signal activity alongside conventional spectrum and waterfall displays.
3DSS Display
Observe changes in signal strength across the selected frequency span using three-dimensional spectrum visualisation.
Direct Frequency Entry
Touch the frequency display to access the numeric keypad or select signals directly from the scope display.
Flexible Spectrum Modes
Centre, fixed and cursor operating modes provide different ways of displaying and navigating the band.
The Multi-Purpose VFO Outer Dial provides direct control of functions including the clarifier, memory-channel recall and custom-select operations without relying entirely on touchscreen menus.
100W output and integrated antenna matching
The FTDX10 provides adjustable transmit power up to 100W across supported HF, 50MHz and UK 70MHz amateur bands. Its transmitter uses a push-pull MOSFET final amplifier, an aluminium heatsink and an 80mm low-noise cooling fan.
A high-speed automatic antenna tuner is fitted as standard, with a 100-channel memory system for recalling previous matching settings. The tuner is intended to match antennas within its specified impedance range and should not be considered a substitute for an appropriate antenna system.
Transmit facilities include RF and AF monitoring, a three-stage parametric microphone equaliser for SSB and AM, Quick Memory Bank and band-stack functions.
Digital modes and remote operation
USB connectivity supports integration with compatible computer software for CAT control and digital-mode operation. Correct USB driver installation and software configuration may be required depending on the computer and operating system.
The optional Yaesu SCU-LAN10 network remote-control system allows compatible remote operation over a LAN or internet connection. It supports radio control and spectrum-monitoring functions using the associated software. The SCU-LAN10 is not included with the standard FTDX10.
Compact construction and station power
Measuring approximately 266 x 91 x 263mm and weighing around 5.9kg, the FTDX10 provides substantial base-station capabilities without requiring the desk space of a larger flagship transceiver.
The FTDX10 operates from a regulated 13.8V DC supply and draws approximately 23A at full 100W output. A suitable power supply with adequate continuous-current capacity is required and is not included in the standard package. Allow adequate ventilation around the rear cooling system.
What's included?
The SP-30 is supplied under the separate ML&S promotional offer. The optional XF-130CN roofing filter, SCU-LAN10 remote-control unit and 13.8V power supply are not included as standard.
