Icom ID-5200E Dual Band D-STAR Mobile Transceiver

A 4.3-inch colour touchscreen, band scope and waterfall display make it considerably easier to see activity and operate the radio, while independent MAIN and SUB receiver circuits allow simultaneous reception including FM/FM, FM/DV and DV/DV.
Built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/GNSS extend the radio well beyond conventional mobile operation, supporting D-STAR Terminal Mode, Access Point Mode, image transfer, smartphone connectivity, repeater information and location-based functions.

Large 4.3-inch Touchscreen
The ID-5200E uses the same size 4.3-inch colour display found on radios such as the IC-705 and IC-7300MK2.
Touch operation allows rapid adjustment of frequency, mode and other settings. Automatic LCD dimming responds to ambient light, while illuminated front-panel controls improve usability at night or in darker vehicle interiors.
Independent Dual-Band Dials
The main dial, volume and squelch controls are arranged symmetrically for the MAIN and SUB sides of the radio, giving each receiver a familiar and intuitive set of controls.
Frequently used menus and quick functions are also assigned to physical keys, helping reduce reliance on touchscreen menus during normal operation.
Touch Assist for Easier Operation
Pressing the main dial opens the Touch Assist screen, where commonly used settings such as band, mode and tuning step are displayed as larger controls.
This makes frequently used adjustments easier to identify and select, particularly when the radio is installed in a vehicle.
Band Scope and Waterfall Display
The built-in band scope shows current activity while the waterfall adds a chronological history of received signals, making it easier to spot activity, weak signals and available frequencies.
Centre Mode
Displays received signals within a fixed range centred on the current receiving frequency.
FIX Mode
Keeps the display centred on a separately selected FIX Mode centre frequency.
Scroll FIX Mode
Scrolls the displayed range when the receiving marker moves outside the selected span.
Memory Scope
Memory Scope can display activity across 31 channels, the selected memory plus 15 either side, or 41 channels with 20 either side. Waterfall display is also available in Memory Mode and DR Mode.
More Flexible Digital Operation
The ID-5200E includes Terminal Mode, Access Point Mode, DV Repeater Monitor, D-PRS and direct image transmission and reception.
Built-in Wi-Fi allows the radio to use a suitable internet connection for D-STAR operation even where a local repeater cannot be reached directly.
Monitor activity on the destination repeater during Area CQ operation to help determine when an existing QSO has finished.
Send and Receive Images Directly
The radio can send, receive and display stored images without requiring an external display.
Photographs taken on a smartphone can also be transferred to the ID-5200E using its built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Smartphone and PC Support
The ID-5200E supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi together with Bluetooth connectivity.
Wi-Fi can provide internet access for Terminal Mode and Access Point Mode, while compatible smartphone applications can be used for supported control, image handling and other functions.
The radio also supports online firmware and D-STAR repeater-list updates when connected to the internet with a microSD card installed.
APRS Support
Native APRS functionality is planned through a future firmware update.
KISS mode is already supported, allowing APRS operation from a connected PC using suitable packet-radio software.

Full Dualwatch Including DV/DV
Independent and identical MAIN and SUB receiver circuits allow two signals to be heard simultaneously.
VHF and UHF Airband Reception
In addition to normal amateur-band reception, the ID-5200E covers VHF airband and UHF airband between 225 and 400MHz.
Two airband frequencies can also be received simultaneously using V/V, U/U or V/U combinations.
Built-In High-Precision GPS/GNSS
The internal GPS/GNSS receiver provides accurate position information for D-PRS and future APRS operation.

Mounting hardware is not supplied as standard.
Icom lists the MBF-1 mounting base and MBA-20 controller bracket for vehicle mounting. Additional options include the MBF-11 main-unit bracket and MBA-19 mounting bracket.
The controller also supports AMPS-pattern mounting holes and a standard 1/4-inch camera tripod thread.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.
Warranty Terms and Conditions
Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.
For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.
International Warranty information
Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
