A compact 1/4-wave ground-plane antenna for installations where a conventional full-length vertical simply won't fit, using helically wound fibreglass elements to reduce its physical size.
The Sirio Boomerang W is designed specifically for balcony, temporary and space-restricted installations. It provides the familiar Boomerang ground-plane arrangement while using shortened fibreglass elements rather than the much longer aluminium radiator found on the Boomerang A.
Both the main radiator and radial use helical loading, allowing Sirio to retain the antenna's 1/4-wave electrical design while reducing the overall physical size to approximately 2.18 metres.
Helically Wound Fibreglass Elements
The key difference between the Boomerang W and the conventional Boomerang A is the construction of the radiating element.
Instead of using a long aluminium whip, the W version uses a tapered fibreglass main radiator with an internal helical winding. The radial is also constructed from fibreglass with helical loading, substantially reducing the physical dimensions of the antenna while retaining its intended electrical operation.
Ideal for Balcony & Temporary Installations
Not every station has room for a full-sized vertical. The Boomerang W was specifically developed for situations where available space is limited, making it particularly useful for balconies, temporary stations and other installations where a conventional full-length radiator would be impractical.
The supplied mast bracket supports the main vertical radiator while the angled radial provides the antenna's counterpoise.
Tune the Main Radiator for Your Operating Frequency
The Boomerang W incorporates a fine-tuning system on the main radiator, allowing the resonant frequency to be adjusted more precisely for the intended operating frequency.
Final SWR adjustment can then be made by altering the inclination angle of the radial until the best match is achieved.

Quarter-Wave Ground-Plane Design
The Boomerang W is a 50-ohm, 1/4-wave ground-plane design with linear vertical polarisation and omnidirectional horizontal radiation. Sirio specifies a gain of 0 dBd / 2.15 dBi and bandwidth of at least 800kHz at SWR ≤2.
Lightweight, Strong & Weather Ready
Fibreglass, copper, steel and nylon construction keeps the Boomerang W relatively lightweight at approximately 750 g, while Sirio rates the antenna for wind speeds of up to 140 km/h.
For best performance, install the antenna clear of metal roofs, walls, power lines and other antennas, and use a good-quality 50-ohm coaxial feed cable kept as short as reasonably practical.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.
Warranty Terms and Conditions
Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.

International Warranty information
Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
