Premium flexible 50 ohm coax with far lower loss than conventional RG213/U and dramatically lower loss than RG-8X, finished in a discreet UV-resistant green jacket.
Choose your cable length and connector combination and let us build the lead for you.
Far lower loss than RG213. Dramatically lower loss than RG-8X.
ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost combines premium 10.3mm coax performance with exceptional flexibility, full-copper RF construction and a UV-resistant green outer jacket.
Messi & Paoloni ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost /.400" is a high-performance 10.3mm 50 ohm coaxial cable combining very low attenuation with the flexibility of a stranded copper centre conductor.
Compared with conventional RG213/U, ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost delivers substantially lower feed-line loss from a cable of almost identical overall diameter. Its modern physically foamed dielectric, 87% velocity factor and full-copper screening system give it a considerable performance advantage.
Against RG-8 Mini / RG-8X, the improvement is even more dramatic. RG-8X may be convenient and relatively flexible, but its attenuation rises quickly as frequency and cable length increase. ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost retains far more of your transmitted power and received signal.
Substantially lower attenuation than conventional RG213/U while remaining in the same general 10mm cable class.
Dramatically lower loss than typical RG-8X, particularly on longer VHF and UHF feed lines.
UV-resistant green PVC is less visually conspicuous around gardens, vegetation and outdoor antenna installations.
Triple-layer physically foamed polyethylene dielectric provides excellent RF performance across a wide frequency range.
The Outpost Version of ULTRAFLEX 10/C
What immediately distinguishes the Outpost version is its UV-resistant green PVC outer jacket.
This makes it particularly attractive for permanent outdoor antenna systems, garden installations and field stations where a green cable will blend more naturally into vegetation and surrounding landscaping than a conventional black or white feed line.
Beneath the green jacket is a sophisticated low-loss construction featuring a stranded copper centre conductor, triple-layer physically foamed dielectric, full copper foil screen and reactive copper braid.
Premium Low-Loss Performance
At 20°C, M&P specifies attenuation of only 1.4dB per 100m at 14MHz, 2.6dB at 50MHz, 4.6dB at 144MHz, 8.5dB at 430MHz and 15.3dB at 1296MHz.
This makes ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost particularly attractive for longer feed-line runs and higher-frequency operation where ordinary coaxial cable losses can quickly become a significant part of the station's overall performance.
See the Difference Against RG213 and RG-8X
Lower attenuation means more of your transmitted signal reaches the antenna and more of weak received signals reach your receiver.
RG213/U and RG-8X figures are representative values and may vary between manufacturers and individual cable constructions.
If you are currently using RG213, ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost can significantly reduce feed-line loss while remaining almost identical in overall cable diameter.
If you are replacing RG-8X, the performance improvement is substantially greater, particularly on 6m, 2m and 70cm where cable attenuation becomes increasingly important.
Low Loss Without Sacrificing Flexibility
ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost uses a 7 x 1.0mm stranded copper centre conductor with an overall diameter of approximately 2.9mm.
The stranded construction provides much greater flexibility than a comparable solid-centre low-loss cable, making it practical for tight cable routes and installations involving antenna rotators.
M&P specifies a minimum bend radius of 80mm for repeated bending up to 15 bends and only 40mm for a single bend or choke.
Reactive Copper Braid
The outer conductor includes a 144-wire copper reactive braid with 71% coverage.
M&P manufactures the braid using a 24-spool machine rather than a conventional 16-spool process. The additional crossover points help provide exceptional screening while allowing the braid to react to twisting and bending in a spring-like manner.
Beneath the braid is a 100% copper foil first screen with an applied polyethylene layer designed to help prevent cracking during short-radius bends.
Greater Than 105dB Screening
M&P specifies screening efficiency greater than 105dB between 100MHz and 2000MHz.
The full copper foil and reactive braid screening system helps minimise unwanted RF ingress and radiation from the feed line, making ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost well suited to demanding amateur radio and communications installations.
Excellent Power Handling
ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost is equally capable in demanding transmit installations. At a cable temperature of 40°C, M&P specifies continuous power handling of approximately 3428W at 14MHz, 1849W at 50MHz, 1049W at 144MHz and 587W at 430MHz.
M&P specifies a maximum peak-power rating of 12kW. Continuous power capability depends on frequency and cable temperature, so the detailed power-handling figures should be used when planning a high-power installation.
Where ULTRAFLEX 10/C Outpost Works Best
Green outer jacket blends more naturally into gardens, vegetation and outdoor antenna installations.
Low attenuation and excellent screening make it a strong all-round feed line for demanding stations.
Low attenuation helps preserve both transmitted power and weak received signals over substantial cable lengths.
Particularly worthwhile as frequency rises and feed-line losses become increasingly significant.
Stranded copper construction and reactive braid provide excellent flexibility for beam antennas and rotator loops.
A substantial performance upgrade where reducing feed-line attenuation is a priority.
