Complete EU868 Outdoor Antenna Kit

CHELEGANCE EU868 LoRa Antenna Kit

A complete outdoor 858–878 MHz antenna system for compatible Meshtastic and MeshCore nodes and repeaters, available with your choice of 5 dBi or 8 dBi fibreglass antenna.

ML&S version supplied with 1 m LMR-400 low-loss feedline

Designed for permanent or semi-permanent EU868 installations, this kit combines a weather-resistant vertical antenna, mast-mounting hardware and a 1 m low-loss LMR-400 feedline terminating in RP-SMA male. The LMR-400 cable was specifically requested by ML&S in preference to the higher-loss RG-58 normally supplied with this antenna kit, helping preserve valuable link budget at 868 MHz.

LOW-LOSS FEEDLINE
1 m LMR-400
Supplied to ML&S specification with low-loss LMR-400 rather than the RG-58 normally supplied with this kit.
OUTDOOR INSTALLATION
Mast Clamp Included
Supplied with mounting hardware for installation on a suitable pole or mast.
ML&S-SPECIFIED LOW-LOSS CABLE

LMR-400 instead of RG-58

We specifically requested that our version of this antenna kit be supplied with a 1 m LMR-400 feedline rather than the RG-58 normally supplied with the standard kit. At frequencies around 868 MHz, reducing feedline loss helps deliver more of the transmitted signal to the antenna and more of the received signal back to the radio.

LMR-400
Approx. 0.13 dB/m
Representative Times Microwave attenuation at 900 MHz.
REPRESENTATIVE RG-58
Approx. 0.45 dB/m
Representative Belden RG-58 attenuation at 900 MHz.
Around 3.5× lower representative cable attenuation. The comparison above uses published 900 MHz cable specifications as a close reference for EU868 operation.

Cable figures are representative manufacturer specifications for the cable types themselves. Actual assembled feedline loss will also depend on connector construction and the finished cable assembly.

COMPLETE CONNECTION PATH

N-Type antenna to RP-SMA device

The antenna uses an N-Type connection and the supplied 1 m LMR-400 cable terminates in RP-SMA male at the radio end. This makes the complete kit directly suited to compatible EU868 equipment using the required RP-SMA antenna connection without needing to assemble a separate feedline.

SENSECAP P1 PRO

An ideal companion for an outdoor mesh node

The RP-SMA connection makes this kit directly suitable for compatible devices such as the Seeed SenseCAP Solar Node P1 Pro, providing a straightforward way to move the antenna to a higher and more favourable position while keeping the node itself securely installed.

INSTALLATION

Height and location matter

Mount the antenna in a suitable elevated location with as clear a path to the surrounding coverage area as practical. Antenna height and site selection can be just as important to a successful LoRa link as the antenna's quoted gain.

Example elevated installation path for CHELEGANCE EU868 outdoor Meshtastic and MeshCore antenna
Higher gain does not guarantee a particular range

Actual coverage depends on the complete installation, including antenna height and selection, feedline loss, terrain, buildings and other obstructions, interference, radio configuration and applicable local regulations. Choose the antenna version that best suits the installation rather than relying on gain alone.

Feedline Comparison

Cable Representative Attenuation at 900 MHz Use in this ML&S Kit
LMR-400 Approx. 0.13 dB/m Included
Representative RG-58 Approx. 0.45 dB/m Not supplied

Comparison note: figures above are representative published cable attenuation specifications at 900 MHz, used as a close comparison point for EU868 operation. Actual loss through a finished cable assembly will also depend on connectors and assembly construction.

Device Compatibility

Suitable for compatible Meshtastic, MeshCore and other EU868 LoRa equipment using the required RP-SMA antenna connection.

Directly suitable for the external antenna connection on the Seeed SenseCAP Solar Node P1 Pro. For other equipment, confirm the connector type and regional frequency configuration before purchase.

Installation Notes

Actual range depends on antenna selection, installation height, terrain, obstructions, feedline loss, interference, radio configuration and local regulations. A higher-gain antenna does not by itself guarantee greater useful coverage in every installation.
