The Digirig DR-891 is a USB digital modes interface kit designed specifically for the Yaesu FT-891. It provides complete radio connectivity for audio, PTT and CAT control over a single USB connection, helping keep your digital modes setup neat and straightforward.
Unlike the standard Digirig Mobile, the DR-891 includes a built-in USB hub with passthrough to the FT-891’s USB port, along with an audio codec and PTT circuitry. This allows the FT-891 to be connected for digital modes such as FT8, JS8Call, Winlink, APRS, SSTV and other soundcard-based applications.
The DR-891 supports multiple PTT options, including serial CAT control, GPIO3 control from the CM108 audio codec, and VOX PTT using tone or payload on the unused right audio channel. Individual PTT methods can be disabled using configuration pads on the PCB if required.
The interface works with major operating systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. Isolation can also be added using a suitable USB isolator dongle if required.
Important Compatibility Notes
The cables supplied with this kit are not sold separately, as they cannot be used with other Digirig models. The DR-891 is the only Digirig model that supports a downlink USB connection using the red socket.
Do not connect anything to the DR-891 coloured socket labelled USB other than the red-moulded cable supplied with this kit.
This model can also be used with other transceivers with functionality equivalent to Digirig Lite by connecting a standard Digirig audio/PTT cable into the black socket labelled Audio. In this use case, the coloured USB socket must not be used.

Important Note
This kit is designed for the Yaesu FT-891. The included cables are specific to the DR-891 and are not compatible with other Digirig interface models.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.
Warranty Terms and Conditions
Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.
For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.
International Warranty information
Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
