The LoRa Sniffer Device is a compact and highly capable LoRa radio module designed for testing, monitoring, and maintaining LoRa networks in real world conditions. Available in two frequency versions, 433 MHz and 868 MHz. It gives users a practical way to analyse LoRa communication, configure radio parameters, and optimise network performance in the field.
Working together with its dedicated app for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, the LoRa Sniffer connects via Bluetooth at the touch of a button. This allows quick access to setup parameters such as transmission power, sensitivity, bandwidth, and more. It can receive communications from other LoRa nodes and also send data via LoRa, making it a powerful tool for both testing and diagnostics.
Used on its own, the LoRa Sniffer is a flexible platform for LoRa communication analysis. Used as a pair, it becomes even more valuable, allowing users to gather real time information about network quality and performance in a live environment. This makes it especially useful for network maintenance, optimisation, and field testing.
The app includes a detailed logging window with functions for formatting received communications, adding timestamps, and recording the GPS location where each message was received. Every logged message includes quality of signal data such as CRC, SNR, RSSI, and carrier frequency offset. Logs can be saved as a visual HTML document or as a JSON log file for further review and reporting.
Messages can be sent as either ASCII or binary data, while built in tools allow users to scan for channel activity, calculate transmission times for specific payloads, and update the firmware of the LoRa Sniffer device. Power is supplied by an internal LiPo battery, which is charged via USB.
