For many radio amateurs, the fascination with the sky doesn’t stop at the radio spectrum. If you’ve ever spent a night chasing DX, watching the bands open and close, or tracking satellites across the sky, you’ll understand the same excitement exists in optical astronomy. The Dwarf Mini Smart Telescope is a compact, intelligent telescope that makes exploring the night sky almost as easy as tuning a radio.
Designed for portability and automation, the Dwarf Mini is perfect for radio operators who enjoy technology, experimentation and discovering what’s happening above their antennas.

See What Your Antenna Can’t Hear
While radio astronomy lets us detect signals from space, the Dwarf Mini lets you see many of the objects you may already know from amateur radio discussions and space science.
With its automated tracking and imaging system, you can capture objects such as:
-
The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) – our nearest major galactic neighbour
-
The Orion Nebula (M42) – a stellar nursery over 1,300 light years away
-
The Moon – take a classic picture with ease
-
Star clusters, nebulae and bright galaxies
The telescope automatically stacks exposures and enhances images, meaning you don’t need complicated astrophotography equipment to start capturing deep sky objects.
Smart Tracking and Automated Imaging
Much like modern SDR radios automate complex signal processing, the Dwarf Mini uses intelligent software to handle the difficult parts of astronomy.
Simply select an object in the companion app and the telescope will:
-
Automatically align itself with the sky
-
Track celestial objects as the Earth rotates
-
Capture and stack multiple exposures
-
Produce clear deep-sky images directly to your phone or tablet
This makes it ideal for beginners while still being fascinating for technically minded operators who enjoy seeing how the system works.
Perfect for Portable Operation
Just like portable radio setups, the Dwarf Mini is designed to be taken anywhere.
The compact design makes it easy to deploy in locations where the skies are darker and clearer - whether that’s your garden, a portable radio field day, or a countryside operating location.
Key benefits include:
-
Ultra-portable design – small enough to travel with easily
-
Quick setup – ready to observe in minutes
-
Battery powered operation – no complicated power supplies required
-
Wi-Fi control via smartphone or tablet
It’s the perfect companion for portable radio operators who enjoy combining technology with the outdoors.
A Natural Fit for Curious Radio Amateurs
Amateur radio has always been about exploration and experimentation. Many operators who enjoy satellites, space science and propagation naturally develop an interest in astronomy too.
The Dwarf Mini Smart Telescope gives you the ability to:
-
Explore the same universe your signals travel through
-
Capture real images of distant galaxies and nebulae
-
Learn more about astronomy, space science and astrophotography
-
Add a completely new dimension to your nights under the stars
Whether you’re waiting for the bands to open, operating portable, or simply curious about what lies beyond the ionosphere, the Dwarf Mini makes exploring the night sky incredibly accessible.
A fascinating piece of technology for any radio amateur who enjoys looking up as well as listening.

Big Universe. Tiny Telescope. Designed for convenience on the go.
DWARF Mini packs a precision astro camera, auto-tracking mount, and intelligent control system -all into a body weighing just 840g.
No heavy gear. No setup stress. Just point, shoot and explore. This isn't a simplified telescope. It's a whole new way to ex

Small Size, Big Shots
The DWARF Mini weighs only 840g, making it lightweight and easy to carry around. And it is your ultimate stargazing companion - whether in your backyard, by the lakeshore or atop a mountain.
The DWARF mini is the world’s most portable smart telescope for astrophotography. It weighs a mere 840g, is small enough to drop into a backpack, yet capable of capturing detailed images of the Moon, planets, nebulae and distant galaxies with very little know-how.
Unlike traditional telescopes that might need mounts, laptops and calibration, the DWARF mini is designed to remove as many barriers as possible to you enjoying the night sky. From the moment it is switched on, the system handles alignment, focusing and target tracking automatically through a smartphone app.
Within a few minutes, it can locate objects in the night sky, lock onto them and begin capturing images, with support for long exposures of up to 90 seconds when used in equatorial mode. This makes it a brilliant choice for beginners who want fantastic results, while still offering RAW capture and manual control for users who want to edit their images later.
Whether observing galaxies from a balcony or in the garden, a rooftop or under dark skies while on holiday, it offers an easy and accessible way to explore astrophotography for anyone.

DWARF mini Smart Telescope in More Detail
All-Night Power
The DWARF mini uses a built-in 7000mAh battery. This provides several hours of use on a single charge. For longer sessions, it can be powered through USB, so an external battery pack can be used if needed. This suits longer imaging runs or nights away from mains power.
Peak Performance
Image capture is handled by a Sony IMX662 sensor with a 1/2.8-inch size and 2.9μm pixels. This sensor is commonly used in low-light applications and supports clean star detail at longer exposures. The DWARF mini supports 2MP RAW image capture, allowing files to be processed later in third-party software if preferred.
Ready in 3 Minutes
After switching on, the telescope carries out focusing, calibration and GoTo alignment automatically. Control is handled through the companion app. Once aligned, targets can be selected and tracked without manual adjustment. In equatorial mode, exposure times of up to 90 seconds are supported.
360° Pan Freedom
The lens barrel rotates through 225°, while the mount itself offers full 360° pan and tilt movement. This allows targets to be framed at a wide range of angles. Tracking and framing can be controlled through the app, with manual joystick control available for fine adjustments.
Built-in Filters and Processing
Three filters are built into the system. A dark-frame filter is used to reduce thermal noise. An astro filter enhances nebula contrast across the visible and infrared range. A dual-band filter targets Hα, Hβ and O III wavelengths to help reduce the effects of moonlight and light pollution. Image stacking and basic processing are handled in the app using Stellar Studio, with RAW export available for further editing.
