DX Engineering 12 Meter Add-On Kits for Hustler 4BTV, 5BTV and 6BTV

DX Engineering 12 Meter Add-On Kits for Hustler 4BTV, 5BTV or 6BTV HF vertical antennas add 12 meter coverage without giving up existing band coverage. This updated kit adds operation across the entire 12 meter band, 24.890 through 24.990 MHz, with a nominal SWR of 1.5:1 or less. Simply install the kit, check the tuning, make minimal tuning adjustments and you're on the air with an additional band! A complete illustrated installation manual is provided with each kit.

This DXE-AOKC-12M Add-On kit can handle full legal limit SSB PEP power (of course, use less power on digital modes). Both DX Engineering Hustler BTV Add-On Kits can work together, as they do not interact with each other, nor does their presence drastically affect other bands. The DXE-AOKC-12M 12 Meter Add-On Kit and the DXE-AOKC-17M 17 Meter Add-On Kit match each other, except for the coil on the 17M, and they add negligible wind loading to the antenna. Both Add-On Kits, 12M and 17M, can mount on opposite sides of the Hustler BTV vertical, and may be installed at the same time or at different times.

TIP: The use of the DXE-OMNI-TILT Tilt Base is recommended for BTV ground mounting when both DXE-AOKC-12M and DXE-AOKC-17M kits will be installed.

For those roof mounted Hustler BTV, or those in an elevated position, two or more resonant radials should be added; about 9 ft., 5 in. each, for 12 meters. For ground mounted Hustler BTV installations, no change to the appropriate radial system is necessary.

Materials supplied with these kits include:

  • Pre-assembled 12 Meter element wire with soldered ring terminals

  • Four Stainless Steel Band Clamps with Threaded Studs

  • Upper Insulated Bracket

  • Two 14 in. long Tuning Rods

  • Bottom Aluminum Stand-off Bracket

  • Spring-loaded End Insulator for the 12 Meter element wire lets the antenna move naturally

  • Scotch-Brite® Pad for cleaning the antenna tubing

  • Stainless Steel Hardware

The RF power handling of the DXE-AOKC-12M 12 Meter Add-On Kit is conservatively rated for 1,500 watts PEP SSB; 1,000 watts CW and 375 watts RTTY and Digital modes including FT8, at antenna SWR of 2:1 and below. This rating is for 12 meters only; it does not apply to BTV antenna trap or resonator frequencies where the use of less power is advised.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.

Warranty Terms and Conditions

Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.

For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.

International Warranty information

Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
