Flagship features with room to grow

The Yaesu FTM-510DE builds on the popular FTM-500DE platform, offering advanced dual-band communication, enhanced memory functions and Yaesu's Super-DX weak-signal reception. It delivers up to 55W on 144MHz and 50W on 430MHz, supporting both traditional FM analogue and C4FM digital voice operation.

With a large detachable touchscreen controller, independent dual receivers, integrated GPS, APRS communication and extensive memory functions, the FTM-510DE is a versatile choice for vehicle installations and home stations alike.

The standard version retains the same core features as the FTM-510DE ASP. The difference is the additional SPU-1 processor, which is not factory-installed on this model.

Powerful mobile performance

Super-DX. Hear signals that are harder to reach.

Super-DX increases the sensitivity of the radio's RF amplifier when incoming signals are weak. It is available for supported C4FM digital and analogue FM operation, helping improve reception where a distant or obstructed signal is difficult to hear.

Super-DX is included on the standard FTM-510DE and does not require any additional hardware. Simply use the S-DX control to activate or deactivate the function.

Reception improvements depend on signal strength, local interference, antenna installation and propagation conditions.

Upgrade to ASP whenever you're ready

Installing the optional Yaesu SPU-1 Audio Signal Processor enables advanced noise reduction for weak analogue FM reception. Rather than simply increasing sensitivity, ASP processes the received audio to reduce background noise and improve speech clarity under suitable conditions.

The upgrade also enables ASP AUTO mode, which activates processing automatically when weak FM signals are received. The module can be installed later, allowing you to choose when to add this functionality.

Listen to two channels at once

The FTM-510DE provides independent A and B receiving paths. Operators can monitor VHF and UHF simultaneously, two VHF frequencies, or two UHF frequencies, including compatible C4FM digital signals on both receiving channels.

Whether following a club net while monitoring a repeater, listening to local simplex activity or tracking two digital talk paths, dual reception avoids the need to continuously switch frequencies.

Smarter monitoring with PMG and MAG

C4FM digital and analogue FM in one radio

The FTM-510DE supports both FM analogue and Yaesu C4FM digital voice. Automatic Mode Select (AMS) recognises compatible digital or analogue incoming transmissions and selects the appropriate reception mode.

Yaesu DG-ID and Group Monitor functions help organise digital operating groups, while WIRES-X compatibility supports suitable network-linked digital communication arrangements.

The radio is suitable for conventional repeaters, simplex communication, club activity and digital voice networks, with Super-DX offering additional support for weak-signal reception.

A large, adjustable touchscreen controller

The high-resolution colour touchscreen provides access to frequencies, memories, digital operating functions and signal monitoring. Its detachable, angle-adjustable control head is designed to remain practical whether the radio is installed in a vehicle or on a desktop.

Built-in GPS, Smart Navigation and APRS

The internal GPS receiver supports position-based functions, including Smart Navigation with a graphical compass display. This can help operators maintain awareness of positions and directions when working with supported position data.

APRS functionality supports 1200/9600bps packet communication for position reporting, messages and other compatible data features. A microSD card slot provides additional storage and data-management options.

Add Bluetooth with the optional BU-5

Bluetooth is not fitted as standard. Installing the optional Yaesu BU-5 Bluetooth unit enables wireless audio and hands-free operation with compatible headsets, including the Yaesu SSM-BT20.

Flexible installation with a detachable controller

The compact transceiver unit can be mounted separately from the control head, making it possible to position the radio away from the dashboard while keeping the operating controls within easy reach.

Optional installation accessories include control-head extension cables, dash-mounting brackets and the Yaesu SJMK-500 swing-head kit.

What's included?

Standard documentation and small accessories are supplied according to the UK package. The SPU-1 ASP board is not factory-installed. The BU-5 Bluetooth module, SSM-BT20 headset, antenna and external power supply are not standard package contents.
