The Icom IC-9700 brings modern SDR performance to VHF, UHF and 1.2GHz operation. Covering the 144MHz, 430MHz and 1240-1300MHz amateur bands, it supports SSB, CW, AM, FM, RTTY and D-STAR digital operation in a single desktop transceiver.
The 144MHz and 430MHz sections use direct RF sampling, while the 1.2GHz section uses down-conversion followed by direct sampling. The result is a modern receiver architecture combined with a high-resolution spectrum scope, waterfall display and familiar Icom touchscreen operation.
Transmit power is up to 100W on 144MHz, 75W on 430MHz and 10W on 1.2GHz, making the IC-9700 equally suitable for local FM, weak-signal SSB, D-STAR, contesting and satellite work.
Full-duplex operation, satellite tracking, twin receive capability, SD-card recording, LAN connectivity and extensive memory functions make the IC-9700 one of the most complete VHF/UHF/SHF base transceivers available.

Direct Sampling on 2m and 70cm
The IC-9700 uses direct RF sampling on the 144MHz and 430MHz bands. Incoming RF is converted directly into digital data for FPGA processing, reducing the number of analogue mixer stages in the receive chain.
On 1.2GHz, the signal is first down-converted before entering the direct-sampling section, allowing the same SDR processing approach to be extended into the 23cm band.
Simultaneous Receive and Transmit
Full-duplex operation allows reception on one band while transmitting on another, making the IC-9700 particularly well suited to satellite communication. Dualwatch is supported across different bands, although same-band VHF/VHF or UHF/UHF dualwatch is not available.
Normal and Reverse Tracking
Dedicated satellite mode provides normal and reverse tracking, allowing uplink and downlink frequencies to move together during satellite operation. Up to 99 satellite memory channels can be stored for frequently used satellites.
Digital Voice & Data
Built-in D-STAR support provides clear digital voice together with DV and DD data operation across compatible bands and services.
SSB, CW, FM, AM & RTTY
Go beyond repeater operation with weak-signal SSB, CW, RTTY, AM, FM and narrow FM across the supported amateur bands.
4.3-inch Colour Touchscreen
The 4.3-inch TFT touchscreen provides quick access to frequencies, settings and operating functions while also displaying the real-time spectrum scope and waterfall.
The scope makes it easier to identify activity across the band visually, while touch operation allows quick movement directly to signals of interest.
Voice Recording and Playback
The IC-9700 can record and play back received audio using an SD memory card. The SD card can also be used for settings, memories and other radio data.

If you have any equipment that needs to be returned to Martin Lynch & Sons, please fill out the form below:
Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.
Warranty Terms and Conditions
Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.
For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.
International Warranty information
Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
