High-performance dual-receiver SDR transceiver with RF direct sampling, 110dB RMDR, dual spectrum scopes, 7-inch touchscreen and built-in automatic antenna tuner.
Includes the Icom SP-41 matching speaker, worth £164.95, and the Icom SM-30 desktop microphone, worth £132.
Whether you are dealing with poor band conditions or trying to pick a weak caller out of a large pile-up, receiver performance can make the difference between putting the QSO in the log and having to try again later.
The Icom IC-7610 combines two independent RF direct-sampling receivers with a representative 110dB RMDR, giving DXers and contest operators the performance needed to hear weak signals in the presence of much stronger adjacent stations.
Twin DIGI-SEL preselectors, dual band-pass filter networks and separate A/D converters feed the FPGA, while the large touchscreen, dual spectrum scopes, built-in ATU and extensive station connectivity make the IC-7610 equally capable as the centre of a serious home station.
Two independent RF direct-sampling receivers with separate signal paths.
Excellent ability to recover weak signals alongside powerful adjacent signals.
High-resolution colour display with dual spectrum scope and waterfall operation.
Frequency-based tuning memories automatically recall previously stored settings.
Two Independent High-Performance Receivers
Incoming RF signals are digitised by the A/D converters and immediately processed by the FPGA. By eliminating many of the analogue mixer stages used in conventional superheterodyne designs, RF direct sampling helps reduce unwanted distortion.
The IC-7610 uses two separate DIGI-SEL preselectors, two separate band-pass filter networks and two independent A/D converters, allowing MAIN and SUB to operate as genuinely independent receivers.
110dB RMDR
The IC-7610 achieves a representative 110dB RMDR at 2kHz separation, helping the receiver pull weak stations out from beside much stronger signals during busy contest and DX conditions.
MAIN and SUB Preselectors
Independent DIGI-SEL preselectors use sharp RF filtering to help prevent A/D converter overflow from powerful out-of-band signals and reduce higher-order intermodulation products.
Low Phase Noise VCXO
A customised low-phase-noise VCXO is used for the master clock, while a 10MHz reference signal can also be supplied externally when greater frequency precision is required.
Digital Up-Conversion for a Clean Transmitted Signal
Rather than generating the transmit signal by mixing a carrier with a local oscillator, the IC-7610 uses Digital Up-Conversion to generate the required signal through the Digital-to-Analogue Converter, helping provide a clean RF output.
7-inch Colour Touchscreen
The large 7-inch, 800 × 480 touchscreen provides operating information, simulated analogue meters, decoded RTTY and PSK31/63 messages and the IC-7610's high-speed dual spectrum scopes.
MAIN and SUB spectrum displays can be arranged horizontally or vertically, with a 100dB dynamic range and waterfall display making it easier to identify activity and locate weak signals.

IC-7610 General
Independent Dual RF Direct-Sampling Receivers
Two independent receiver chains use separate DIGI-SEL preselectors, band-pass filter networks and A/D converters feeding the FPGA. This allows true dual reception together with dual spectrum scopes and diversity reception.
