The Leo Bodnar LBE-1421 is a compact GPSDO-locked frequency source with two low-jitter outputs and a switchable 1PPS function on output 1. Designed for accurate frequency calibration, RF reference use and precision clock applications, it provides a high purity output signal locked to GPS.

Output 1 can be programmed from 1Hz to 800MHz, or used as a 1PPS output, while output 2 can be programmed from 1Hz to 1.4GHz. The output frequency can be set with extremely fine resolution, making the LBE-1421 suitable for demanding reference applications across radio, test equipment, instrumentation and SDR systems.

The frequency stability is derived from GPS satellite Caesium references, with stability approaching 1x10-12, or 0.000001ppm. Output phase noise is shaped by a high quality internal TCXO, providing a clean clock signal with sub-picosecond RMS jitter. A multi-loop digital-analogue PLL allows the output frequency to be set to any value within range, including precise non-integer values such as 144800000.025Hz.

The LBE-1421 is supplied ready to use and configured for 10MHz output. A USB connection to a computer is only required when changing configuration settings, and all settings are stored internally when the device is powered off. The unit is powered via USB-C and is supplied with a magnetic base active GPS antenna.

GPS Holdover and Lock Behaviour

Operation requires a GPS signal, but temporary satellite signal loss is handled seamlessly without frequency or phase jumps. If GPS signal is lost, the digital PLL maintains the best estimated output frequency based on historical data. When GPS lock is reacquired, the output is brought back into sync with the GPS reference without glitches.

Active and passive GPS antennas are supported. The supplied active antenna uses a 5 metre cable and can be substituted with other common compatible antennas.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.

Warranty Terms and Conditions

Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.

For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.

International Warranty information

Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
