Call 0345 2300 599The Grazioli HW20V is a high-performance half wave vertical antenna designed specifically for the 20m amateur band. Base-fed and built for serious fixed station use, it offers full 20m band coverage, high efficiency and excellent mechanical strength for demanding outdoor installations.
The HW20V uses a 1/2 wave end fed vertical dipole design with fine tuning carried out at the base via a PTFE-insulated high-voltage variable capacitor. This allows accurate adjustment while keeping setup practical and accessible. The matching system uses a high Q LC circuit with an air-wound coil and PTFE-insulated capacitor, designed to provide efficient impedance matching and handle up to 3kW continuous power in all modes.
Construction is extremely robust, using cold-drawn AW6063-T66 aluminium alloy tubing with precise wall thicknesses and diameters for secure section coupling with minimal play. Fibreglass, brass and PTFE components are used where required, while all hardware is AISI-304 and AISI-316 stainless steel for long-term rust resistance.
The antenna is DC grounded through the matching circuit, helping to reduce atmospheric and impulse noise. It is also fitted with a custom Grazioli 50 ohm UHF female connector, using PTFE insulation and a 24K gold-plated centre pin for reliable high-power operation.
The HW20V is supplied with a detailed assembly manual, serial number identification and a 3-point fifth wheel bracing system, which is strongly recommended for installation.

Construction Details
The HW20V is manufactured using AW6063-T66 aluminium alloy, a tempered aluminium, magnesium and silicon alloy chosen for its strength and precision. The tubing is extruded and cold-drawn to maintain accurate diameters and wall thicknesses, helping each section fit securely with minimal movement.
The matching circuit uses a generously sized high Q coil suspended in air, with widely spaced turns and no metal core. A PTFE-insulated coaxial variable capacitor, similar in function to a Gamma Match, allows convenient base tuning and is designed to withstand very high voltages exceeding 40kV.
Installation Notes
The Grazioli HW20V should be installed on a suitable support mast with clear space around the antenna. Due to its height, the supplied 3-point fifth wheel bracing system should be fitted for additional stability. Good quality coaxial cable, careful weatherproofing and secure mechanical installation are recommended for best long-term performance.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.
Warranty Terms and Conditions
Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.
For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.
International Warranty information
Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
