The Momobeam RF Choke Line Isolator range is designed to help reduce common mode current on 50 ohm coaxial feed lines. These broadband 1:1 W1JR style chokes provide a clean transition between balanced antenna systems, such as dipoles and Yagi antennas, and unbalanced coaxial cable feed lines.

Common mode current can cause a range of unwanted problems in an amateur radio station, including increased receive noise, incorrect SWR meter readings and interference to electronic equipment in the shack or near the antenna system. Installing a suitable RF choke can help reduce these issues and improve overall station performance.

These Momobeam RF chokes can be installed at the antenna feed point, at the base of a tower, near the shack, or along the coaxial line as a feedline choke. They are also well suited for use with EndFed antenna installations, where controlling current on the outside of the coaxial cable can be especially useful.

This configurable listing allows you to choose from three versions depending on your required power handling and installation needs.

  • Helps reduce common mode current on coaxial feed lines
  • Useful for dipoles, Yagi antennas, EndFed antennas and other HF installations
  • Helps reduce unwanted receive noise
  • Can help prevent misleading SWR readings caused by common mode current
  • Helps reduce RF interference in the shack and nearby equipment
  • Can be installed at the antenna, tower base, near the shack or along the feedline
  • Frequency coverage from 3 to 50MHz
  • Choice of 1kW, 2kW or 4kW PEP versions
  • Fitted with 2 x SO-239 connectors

Installation Notes

For best results, the RF choke should be positioned where common mode current needs to be suppressed. This may be directly at the antenna feed point, at the base of a mast or tower, near the operating position, or along the coaxial feed line.

When used at the antenna, ensure any connecting pigtail or short coax section is suitable for the intended power level.
