M&P ULTRAFLEX 7 PL-259 Patch Lead

A professionally assembled 50-ohm coaxial patch lead using genuine Messi & Paoloni ULTRAFLEX 7 cable with PL-259 connectors, available in 0.5m, 1m, 5m and 10m lengths.

These Messi & Paoloni factory-assembled patch leads provide a convenient ready-made solution for connecting transceivers, amplifiers, antenna switches, meters, tuners and other 50-ohm RF equipment without having to terminate the coax yourself.

They use M&P's highly flexible ULTRAFLEX 7 /.287" coax, combining a compact 7.3 mm outside diameter with low loss, strong screening and the flexibility needed for short equipment interconnections and installations where larger coax can be awkward to route.

Factory-Assembled and Ready to Use

Rather than supplying loose coax and connectors for customer assembly, these leads are supplied as finished M&P cable assemblies with the PL-259 connectors already fitted.

This makes them ideal when you need a clean, ready-made interconnection between pieces of radio equipment or a short feeder without the time, tools and soldering involved in terminating the cable yourself.

Easier to Route Around the Shack

ULTRAFLEX 7 has an outside diameter of only 7.3 mm, making it considerably easier to route behind radios, amplifiers and accessories than many traditional larger-diameter feeder cables.

Its stranded copper centre conductor and flexible construction are designed for tight bends and installations where the coax is moved regularly, making ULTRAFLEX 7 particularly well suited to short patch leads and equipment jumpers.

Smaller Cable, Serious RF Performance

Messi & Paoloni positions ULTRAFLEX 7 as offering better RF performance than conventional RG213/U and RG8 while using a considerably smaller 7.3 mm cable diameter.

For patch leads, that means you gain the flexibility and manageability of a smaller cable without automatically dropping to the performance level normally associated with lighter general-purpose coax.

A++ Screening for a Cleaner RF Environment

ULTRAFLEX 7 uses a 100% screening foil beneath a dense copper braid made from 144 wires. Messi & Paoloni specifies screening efficiency of greater than 105dB from 100 to 2000MHz, achieving Screening Class A++.

This makes it particularly useful around modern radio installations containing computers, switch-mode power supplies, network equipment and multiple RF interconnections.

Designed to Remain Flexible

The centre conductor is formed from 19 × 0.38 mm copper wires rather than a single rigid conductor, surrounded by a physically foamed polyethylene dielectric.

Outside this sits the copper foil and reactive copper braid, finished with a flexible UV-resistant black PVC jacket. The manufacturer specifies an 83% velocity factor and 75pF/m nominal capacitance.
