A highly compact multiband QRP antenna package covering HF through VHF/UHF, with a 120 cm telescopic whip, 10 m wire radiator, 3 m counterpoise and the adaptors needed for a wide range of portable transceivers.
The Wonder Wand WideBander Multi combines the familiar WideBander tuning unit with both of Wonder Wand's most useful portable antenna configurations in one package.
For the smallest possible setup, fit the supplied 120 cm telescopic radiator. When you have more room available, connect the supplied 10 m radiating wire and 3 m counterpoise to put substantially more wire in the air.
At around 315 g for the complete package, it is particularly well suited to SOTA, POTA, hiking, holidays and lightweight portable operation, where both pack size and weight matter.
One Package for Different Portable Situations
The Multi effectively brings together the different WideBander configurations into one versatile package. You no longer have to decide between carrying the compact telescopic version and taking a wire antenna.
Pack the complete Multi and choose the most suitable arrangement once you reach your operating position.
120 cm Telescopic Whip
The supplied telescopic radiator has a BNC connection and extends to approximately 120 cm. It provides the quickest and most compact way to get the WideBander on the air when space is at a premium.
10 m Radiator + 3 m Counterpoise
When space allows, switch to the supplied 10 m radiating element and 3 m counterpoise. This gives you a far more substantial antenna system for portable HF use while retaining the same compact WideBander tuning unit.
Built for Operating Away from the Shack
Portable operators often have to compromise between antenna performance, setup time, weight and the amount of equipment that will actually fit into a rucksack.
The WideBander Multi is designed around exactly that problem. Use the whip for a rapid, minimal setup, or deploy the longer wire when you reach a summit, park or campsite with enough room available.
Ready for a Wide Range of QRP Radios
The Multi includes a useful set of connection adaptors, allowing the WideBander to be used with many common portable transceivers without having to build a collection of separate fittings.
Ideal for Popular QRP Transceivers
With the supplied adaptors, the WideBander Multi is particularly well suited to portable radios such as:
Tune in Four Simple Steps
No Batteries. No Charging. No Extra Power Supply.
The WideBander is a passive antenna matching system, so there is nothing else to charge or power before heading out. Put it in the rucksack with the radio and you're ready for the next activation.
The Wonder Wand WideBander is intended for QRP operation and is rated by Wonder Wand for a maximum of 10 watts ERP. Do not exceed the manufacturer's stated power rating.
