New Amateur Radio Product to be Exhibited Prior to Worldwide Launch - "TS-990"

JVC KENWOOD Corporation is proud to announce that the prototype of a state-of-the-art Amateur transceiver scheduled for worldwide launch under the Kenwood brand in the winter of 2012 will be unveiled as a reference exhibit at Dayton Hamvention 2012 to be held in Dayton, Ohio, USA (May 18-20). It will also appear at events in Germany and Japan. Reference exhibit model: TS-990 HF/50 MHz Transceiver. Featuring a dual TFT display and dual receiver, the TS-990 is a top-of-the-range flagship model in the Kenwood Amateur radio line-up. Prior to the launch of the TS-990, a prototype will be displayed as a reference exhibit at Dayton Hamvention 2012 in Dayton, Ohio, USA (May 18-20), at HAM RADIO 2012 in Friedrichshafen, Germany (June 22-24), and at Ham Fair 2012 in Tokyo, Japan (August 25-26).

Second on the list must be the new flagship base station from Kenwood.  The last time Kenwood launched a full size base station was in the very early nineties with the TS-950SDX.  Kenwood tell us that they hope to be able to reveal their new masterpiece at this years Dayton Hamvention in Ohio, USA in May. As usual, Kenwood play their cards very close to their chest but it will be a full size mains powered base with a price tag approaching £6k. The order books have been open for over a year now and if you are interested call the sales team to place your interest. The best selling TS-590S proves that Kenwood still have the magic and we can't wait to see what the engineers will present to the Ham world next month.


Hot topic is of course the new Wouxun Dual-band mobile, KG-UV920R.  The factory is still tweaking the final design to ensure that it will be as fantastic as their handie, the KG-UVD1P and its replacement, the new KG-UV6D.  Word from Wouxun is be patient, the wait will be worth it.
