The Sierra Radio Systems SIR-310 is the Raspberry Pi host adaptor module for the Sierra Radio Systems Station Controller range.
It provides the central host platform for building a modular station monitoring and control system, whether used for a remote HF station, repeater site, contest station, shack automation setup, or other radio installation requiring flexible control and monitoring.
The SIR-310 package includes the Raspberry Pi adaptor board with built-in power supply and DCN hub, a Raspberry Pi 3 single board computer, and an SD card loaded with the operating system and Node-RED Station Controller flow. This provides an out-of-the-box starting point for connecting Sierra control modules and bringing the Station Controller dashboard online.
Simply connect compatible Station Controller modules using CAT5/CAT6 network-style patch cables, apply suitable DC power to the SIR-310, and the system can begin powering and communicating with connected DCN modules.

Station Controller System Role
The SIR-310 acts as the host platform for a Sierra Station Controller installation. It connects to compatible control modules over the DCN, or Device Control Network, using network-style patch cables.
The DCN connection is used for module communication and power distribution. Although the connectors are RJ45 style, the DCN ports are not standard Ethernet ports and should only be connected to compatible Sierra Station Controller modules and accessories.
Power Requirements
The SIR-310 requires 11-16V DC input power, supplied through either the PowerPole connector or 2.1mm DC barrel jack.
The host adaptor powers the Raspberry Pi module and can also power connected Station Controller modules through the DCN cabling.

Compatible Sierra Station Controller Modules
The SIR-310 is designed for use with compatible Sierra Radio Systems Station Controller modules, including GPIO modules, coax relay modules, watt meter control modules, antenna relay control modules, DCN hubs, temperature sensors, relay kits, and related accessories.

Control modules, external sensors, coaxial cables, relay accessories, station equipment, antennas, RF sensors, and other accessories are not included unless stated otherwise.
The DCN ports use RJ45 connectors and network-style cables, but they are not standard Ethernet connections. Do not connect DCN ports directly to normal Ethernet network equipment.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.
Warranty Terms and Conditions
Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.
For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.
International Warranty information
Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
