The Sierra Radio Systems SIR-356 is a 5 port DCN data and power hub for the Sierra Station Controller range.
It is designed to expand the Sierra DCN, or Device Control Network, by providing additional connection points for compatible Station Controller modules. This makes it useful when building larger control systems with multiple GPIO modules, coax relay modules, watt meter modules, relay controllers, temperature sensors, and other Sierra accessories.
The SIR-356 is ideal for remote stations, repeater sites, contest stations, and shack automation installations where several Station Controller modules need to be connected in a tidy and organised layout.

Station Controller System Role
The SIR-356 acts as a DCN expansion hub within the Sierra Station Controller system.
The Sierra DCN allows compatible modules to communicate using RS-485 based control data over RJ45-style cabling. The same cabling can also carry system power between compatible modules, helping to reduce wiring and simplify installation.
Although the connectors are RJ45 style and use network-style patch cables, the DCN ports are not standard Ethernet ports. They should only be connected to compatible Sierra Station Controller modules and accessories.
Power Requirements
The SIR-356 is part of the Sierra DCN data and power system. In many installations, power may be supplied through the DCN from a suitable Sierra host or powered DCN arrangement.
If the hub is being used to distribute power to other modules, or if the installation is not being powered through an existing SIR-310 host adaptor or powered DCN connection, a suitable external DC power source may be required.

SIR-310 host adapter, installation kit, control modules, power supply, sensors, relays, coaxial cables, station equipment, and other accessories are not included unless stated otherwise.
A suitable external DC power source may be required when the hub is not being powered through a Sierra DCN connection from a suitable Station Controller host or powered DCN system.
The Sierra DCN uses RJ45 connectors and network-style cables, but DCN connections are not standard Ethernet connections. Do not connect DCN ports directly to normal Ethernet network equipment.

Upon receipt of goods you have 14 days to return goods however the goods must be returned in original packaging and care must have been taken with the goods you wish to return. Under distance selling regulations you are not entitled to any refund on carriage charges or modification charges made at your request. Large items cannot be returned if they have been assembled, unless faulty.
Warranty Terms and Conditions
Outside of the 14 faulty return period, returned items cannot be accepted, unless covered by manufacturer's warranty. We will repair as much as possible on site however in exceptional circumstances products may have to be returned to the manufacturer of distributor.
For repairs/replacements under manufacturer’s warranty for any item please download a ML&S return form from the link above and return to ML&S with the faulty product.
International Warranty information
Warranty service for items we sell is available in the U.K. only, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to pay freight for returned items to the U.K. and back to you for desired warranty coverage. All of our NEW products come with a minimum 12 month warranty, (Yaesu & Icom 24 months), with up to 90 days on second-hand equipment. Items returned for service must state "returned goods for repair" on the return air waybill or U.K. import customs duties apply and will be added to your invoice.
