Easy to see and easy to use. A next-generation dual-band mobile device that expands operational possibilities with its diverse functions.

The ID-5200 is a next-generation digital transceiver covering 144/430MHz. It features a large, touch-operated color display. Furthermore, it is equipped with a waterfall display that allows you to see the band status at a glance, achieving excellent visibility and operability.

Furthermore, it boasts a full range of D-STAR® functions, including terminal mode/access point mode and DV repeater monitoring. APRS support is also planned via a firmware update. In addition, the ID-5200 is equipped with Wi-Fi®/Bluetooth® functionality. The Wi-Fi function allows for internet connection, making terminal mode/access point mode operation even easier. It can also connect wirelessly to smartphones, allowing for comfortable use of applications and other features. Moreover, it supports complete dual-channel simultaneous reception, including DV/DV, enabling efficient operation.

Large , touch-enabled
color display with excellent visibility

It features a large 4.3-inch color display, the same size as the IC-705 and IC-7300MK2. It also supports touch operation, allowing for quick setting of various items, including frequency and mode. Furthermore, it is equipped with an automatic dimming function that adjusts the LCD backlight to the optimal brightness according to ambient light, and a key backlight for easy key operation at night or in dark places. Visibility is greatly improved, allowing you to quickly check a variety of information.

For in-vehicle installation, the MBF-1 mount base (optional) and MBA-20 controller bracket (optional) are used.

Example of installation inside a vehicle *

Two independent dials for superior operability

The main dial, volume knob, and squelch knob are all positioned symmetrically, allowing for smooth and intuitive operation of various functions, including tuning. Furthermore, frequently used menus, functions, and quick access buttons are assigned to physical keys, ensuring smooth operation.

Touch assist function to support operation inside the car

Pushing the main dial displays the touch assist screen. Frequently used items such as band, mode, and TS (tuning step) are displayed in larger sizes, making selection and setting easier and more reliable.

The band's status is immediately clear with the waterfall display.

Equipped with a waterfall display that allows you to check the history of received signals in chronological order. You can find more detailed information about the signal's location, band status, and available frequencies. Center mode, FIX mode, and scroll (FIX) mode can be set.

Centre Mode FIX Mode Scroll (FIX) Mode
The system displays received signals within a certain range, centered around the current receiving frequency. The system displays received signals within a certain range, centered around the receiving frequency set in "FIX Mode Center Frequency". The reception marker, which displays received signals within a certain range centered on the reception frequency set in "FIX mode center frequency," will scroll to display signals if they exceed the display range.

Memory scope function implemented

A memory scope function is implemented that simultaneously displays the reception status of 15 channels before and after the set channel (31 channels in total), or 20 channels before and after the set channel (41 channels in total) (when in memory mode/DR function) * . In addition to the scope, it also supports waterfall display.

The memory scope will operate in fixed center mode.

Enhanced D-STAR® functionality including terminal mode/access point mode.

Terminal mode/Access point mode compatible

Even in locations where you cannot access a repeater, you can connect to the internet via Wi-Fi and perform D-STAR communication. You can enjoy D-STAR regardless of the availability of the nearest repeater or your location.

Furthermore, even in environments where a global IP address is not assigned, it is possible to operate in terminal mode/access point mode while in standby mode * . This enables easier and more flexible operation of D-STAR.

We cannot guarantee that all calls will be received. If you have a global IP address assigned and can open ports, please use the service with UDP hole punching turned OFF

Equipped with DV repeater monitor function

When making an Area CQ (gateway communication) call using D-STAR®, the device features a DV Repeater Monitor function that allows you to monitor the status of the other party's repeater. By accessing the repeater that is sending the Area CQ call via the internet and actually monitoring its status, you can determine when the QSO will end. It supports monitoring of repeaters not only in Japan but also overseas. Furthermore, even while monitoring, reception of the nearest repeater takes priority, so you won't miss your own station's call.

The ID-5200 unit alone can send and receive images.

The ID-5200 unit alone allows you to send, receive, and view saved photos. Photos taken with your smartphone can be sent to the ID-5200 via Wi-Fi®/Bluetooth®.

Connects to smartphones and PCs via Wi-Fi®/Bluetooth®.

It supports connectivity via Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth®. Wi-Fi access to the internet allows for more convenient operation in terminal mode/access point mode. Wireless connection to smartphones is also possible, making it useful when using control software, image cropping software, etc. Furthermore, combining it with optional Bluetooth® bone conduction headsets such as the S9 enables even smoother operation.

Supports APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) *

APRS, a communication protocol that uses packet radio to send and receive location information, messages, weather data, etc. in real time, will be supported * . KISS mode is already supported, allowing APRS operation from a PC.

This will be addressed in a firmware update.

Achieves complete simultaneous reception of two signals, including DV/DV.

The receiver section features independent, identical receiving circuits for the main and sub channels. It supports complete dual-band simultaneous reception, including not only FM/FM and FM/DV, but also DV/DV. It is possible to listen to audio from two frequencies/modes simultaneously. This enables operations such as receiving from two D-STAR repeaters or receiving another repeater while communicating.

Supports a wide range of reception, including V/UHF airband frequencies.

It supports not only VHF but also UHF (225-400MHz) airband reception. Of course, it can simultaneously receive two airband frequencies: V/V, U/U, and V/U. You can enjoy not only communication but also a variety of reception capabilities.

Equipped with a high-precision GPS (GNSS) receiver.

Equipped with a GPS (GNSS) receiver compatible with "Michibiki," which achieves sub-meter-level high-precision positioning. It can display and transmit location information with high accuracy, and is particularly effective with APRS/D-PRS. In addition, it offers a variety of functions, including an automatic location information response function, GPS logging function, and an automatic nearest repeater listing function.
