89.00$

  • Full HF Coverage 1.8-30MHz – Complete amateur radio HF band coverage.
  • 500W Stable and Cool – Aluminium housing helps dissipate heat for practical on-air operation.
  • Aircraft-Grade Aluminium Housing – 6061 hard-anodised aluminium for strength and durability.
  • 51 High-Permeability Mn-Zn Ferrite Beads – 3×17 bead layout for effective common-mode current suppression.

Are You Dealing with Any of These Common RFI Problems?

  • Does your TV turn on by itself when you transmit?
  • Do your USB devices disconnect during contest operation or high-power transmitting?
  • Do you hear RF feedback or hash in your microphone audio?
  • Does your Wi-Fi drop out when you get on the air?
  • Are you fighting common-mode noise and stray RF on an end-fed antenna?

If any of these sound familiar, JBALUN-915 may be the RF choke your station needs.

JBALUN-915 is a 1:1 current choke RF isolator designed to be installed inline with 50-ohm coaxial feedline. It provides stable operation across the full 1.8-30MHz HF range and is rated at 500W PEP for practical amateur radio use.

JBALUN-915 RF isolator overview

Built with an aircraft-grade aluminium housing for improved heat dissipation, JBALUN-915 stays cooler during extended 500W operation, and the published rating reflects practical tested use rather than a theoretical peak claim.

Made from 6061 hard-anodised aluminium for durability, mechanical strength, and long-term outdoor suitability.

JBALUN-915 also helps reduce unwanted RF interaction with station equipment. Its 51 high-permeability Mn-Zn ferrite beads in a 3×17 layout provide effective common-mode current suppression while preserving normal antenna operation.

How It Works

In a real station, RF energy does not always stay only on the intended antenna path. When common-mode current is present on the outside of the feedline, part of the RF can travel along the coax shield, equipment chassis, or other unintended paths in the operating area.

This unwanted RF is often behind many common interference problems, including equipment disruption, audio RF feedback, USB instability, stray RF in the shack, and inconsistent antenna performance.

JBALUN-915 helps control common-mode current on the feedline so the feedline radiates less and more RF energy stays on the path where the antenna is intended to do the work.

Recommended Installation Location

  • Install the JBALUN-915 inline with the feedline, as close to the transceiver as practical.
  • In special RFI cases, the installation position may be adjusted based on station layout and feedline behaviour.

Installation Steps

  1. Connect the coax from the antenna to one end of the JBALUN-915.
  2. Use a short coax jumper to connect the other end of the JBALUN-915 to the transceiver.
  3. Make sure all coax connections are tight and secure.
  4. Check antenna SWR at low power, typically under 10 watts, before full-power operation.

Typical Applications

  • A Solid Choice for Contest Stations
For contest stations where clean audio, stable RF performance, and reduced shack RF matter, JBALUN-915 helps keep the feedline under control.
  • A Practical Upgrade for Indoor Antenna Setups
If you operate from an apartment, HOA-restricted property, or other indoor setup, JBALUN-915 can help reduce unwanted RF in the shack.
  • Well-suited for End-Fed Antennas
End-fed antennas such as EFHW systems are often more sensitive to common-mode current, making a feedline choke especially useful.
  • Also Useful with Dipoles and Vertical Antennas
JBALUN-915 is not limited to end-fed antennas. Dipole and vertical antenna systems can also benefit when unwanted RF is present on the feedline.
  • Built for Mobile and Portable HF Operation
For mobile, portable, RV, and field operation, the aluminium housing adds mechanical strength and long-term durability.
