Base-fed and built for serious fixed station use, it offers a strong combination of rugged construction, high power handling and efficient multiband operation without lossy traps.
The MV6 uses a central radiator for the 20m band, supported by four lateral 1/4 wave stubs for the higher bands. Each band is adjusted by tuning the telescopic sections of the main whip or stubs, with minimal interaction between bands. The 17m adjustment also affects the 6m resonance, so a graphic antenna analyser such as a RigExpert or NanoVNA is recommended for easier setup.
Construction is extremely robust, using cold-drawn AW6063-T66 aluminium alloy tubing with CNC machined parts. The main whip uses large diameter tubing at the base for strength, while the stubs and radials use telescopic aluminium sections. Stainless steel AISI-304 and AISI-316 hardware is used throughout for long, rust-resistant outdoor service.
The antenna is rated for up to 3kW continuous power in all modes and is fed directly without adapters or impedance transformers, helping to reduce losses and maintain efficiency. It also includes a high-impedance inductor to provide a DC path to ground, helping to discharge atmospheric and electrostatic build-up.
The MV6 is now supplied with an original FAIR-RITE FT240-43 ferrite toroid, made in the USA, for the construction of a high-performance common mode choke. This helps reduce unwanted RF feedback and common mode currents on the coaxial feedline. Additional coax and connectors are required to build the choke.
For operators wanting extra band coverage, the Grazioli MV6 Upgrade Kit will also be available separately, allowing the MV6 to be used on the 40m band.

Construction Details
The MV6 is built using AW6063-T66 aluminium alloy, a tempered aluminium, magnesium and silicon alloy chosen for strength and precision. The main vertical whip starts with a 42 x 2mm base section and tapers to 19 x 1.25mm at the top. The lateral stubs and radials use telescopic 13mm and 10mm aluminium tubing.
The ground plane consists of four horizontal radials, each approximately 2.7m long. The vertical stubs are supported by three cross-braces, with CNC machined aluminium used at the base and thermoplastic supports used in the upper sections.
Choke Note
The supplied FAIR-RITE FT240-43 ferrite toroid allows the user to build a suitable common mode choke. Coaxial cable and connectors are not included. Grazioli recommends avoiding coax with expanded foam dielectric for this choke, as it can be damaged when wrapped around the toroid.
Installation Notes
If the antenna is installed in a very windy area, it is recommended to brace it using non-conductive guy lines with the supplied bracing point. A choke should be fitted immediately below the connector to help prevent RF feedback on the coaxial cable.
